Blog Action Day 2008 - Poverty

It’s Blog Action day today which means thousands of bloggers dedicate their days blog to talking about an important topic which this year, is Poverty.

Celebrities are always up for helping out and donating if they can by taking part in charity events.

Most recently, a number of celebrities have teamed up to launch a campaign to cut global poverty in half by 2015. Celebrities such as Will.I.Am, Elle Macpherson and Kristin Davis are taking part.

Whilst world leaders were gathered at the UN, Will.I.Am performed a new song called “in my name” which was written for the Global Call to Action against Poverty.

Will.I.Am sang:

“It’s calling individuals to realize their power in solving global poverty and ending world hunger, Enforcing the politicians to keep what they promised and picking the world leaders that will lead the world honest.”

Will.I.Am has teamed up with YouTube, along with Oxfam International, Save the Children and Comic Relief to help spread the word that poverty needs to be eradicated. YouTube have dedicated a page to Poverty where you can upload a video stating your name, country and message to the government. Video’s are being accepted until 1st November, then Will.I.Am will mash up all of them into a version of his song and broadcast it directly to world leaders and the UN.

Fan bruises Madonna’s ego!

Whilst Madonna was performing at a gig this week in New York, she was shocked to see that a gentleman in the crowd wasn’t up dancing. I mean, if material girl was blasting out the speakers you have to get up and boogie!

According to the Sun newwspaper, when Madge noticed the guy she shouted:

“Are you fucking bored, sir? Why are you sitting? I’m busting my arse up here.”

Once she had finally got over her little mood swing she decided to crack a joke to the crowd:

“Clap for me, My ego is bruised right now!”

So, it appears that some gig goers were not too excited about seeing 50 year old Madonna live, in her revealing leotards….ew!

Britney is BACK!!!

Hurrah, we have all wanted to see Brittaz back on form doing what she does best and now we are.

Britney is due to release her new album on 1st December ( i am secretly soooooooo excited about this!! )

The album named “Circus” is Britney’s 6th album and no doubt it will storm the charts like normal.

A trip to Lag Vegas is also being planned as Britney it reportedly planning a comeback performance on New Years Eve. The performance is meant to be filled with fireworks, burlesque dancers and lots of special effects to kick off her world tour nicely.

I can not physically wait to hear some of Britney’s new tracks, can you?!

I kissed a girl and i liked it!

By now you must of heard Katy Perry’s hit song “I Kissed A Girl”. It’s always blasting out of the radio and constantly on the music channels on the TV.

Katy, who is dating Gym Class Heroes front man Travis, has definitely made her mark in music.

I Kissed A Girl was at the top of the charts for more than 7 weeks, that’s amazing for someone so new to the scene, not only is she rocking America but also the UK too.

The song has been such a success that Mcfly have even given it a go. They performed it on Radio 1’s live lounge and it sounded fab!

Kanye Arrested!

Kanye West was arrested yesterday after attacking a photographer.

The A-List celeb was charged with vandalism following that attack at LAX Airport. As you can see from the video, Kanye throws the camera on the floor in temper.

Kanye was at LAX airport preparing to fly to Honolulu, but after all the kerfuffle both Kanye and his manager were told they couldn’t board the plane.

After having a good telling off from the Police, they were both released on £10,000 bail and charged for vandalism. Apparently that camera we saw being smashed to the ground was worth £5,709. Suppose that only pocket change to Kanye though.

Kanye has declined to comment about the event but will face a court case on 2nd October. Tut Tut Tut!!

That was one hell of an expensive tantrum!

MOBO Nominations

Like i mentioned yesterday, award season is in full swing and the next event to take place is the MOBO’s (Music of Black Origin) in October.

The nominations have already been announced and it appears its all about the girls!!

Estelle has got a massive 5 nominations including best song and best UK female. X Factor winner Leona Lewis is just behind with 3 nominations. Dizzee Rascal and Wiley are both up there for nominations.

The event which is taking place on October 15th is going to be hosted by ex Spice Girl Melanie B, so be prepared for lots and lots of leopard print.

Celeb Tattoos go too far

You’ve heard about groupies and people stalking there fave celebs, but check out what this woman called Vicky Jones has had done.

Not only has she had all the guys from Westlife’s faces tattooed on her back she has also decided to have their signatures,mmmmm classy!

Jennifer Lopez sued!

It’s not often that hear of Jennifer Lopez for anything else but babies and singing. Well, she is in the news this time for a totally different reason.

Jennifer and her husband Marc Anthony are both being sued by a flight attendant.

The flight attendant, Lisa Wilson, said that Jennifer and Marc’s guard dog attacked her, and her lawyer has said the following:

“The issue of who actually owns the dog will be determined in the course of the proceedings.”

Lisa is wanting a massive $5million in damages and she claims that the dog attacked her and bit her pant leg which made her fall over and left her with a serious back injury.

Lisa’s lawyer has said that the dog should of worn a leash or a muzzle.

The dog has failed to comment on the situation.

Peaches Geldof ties the knot

Can you believe it? Peaches Geldof has gone and done a Britney Spears and got married to someone she hardly knows in Las Vegas.

Heat Magazine got to speak to a spokesman for Peaches, here is what he said:

“Peaches and Max Drummey are delighted to announce their very happy marriage. The couple tied the knot in a simple low-key ceremony in Las Vegas last week, whilst holidaying in America. Peaches first met Max, 23, a Harvard graduate in anthropology, 2 years ago. Max’s band, Chester French, played at the ITV iTunes festival, where Peaches was a co-presenter of the show. The acclaimed new Boston band were signed by Pharrell Williams to his label Star Track, a subsidiary of the giant Interscope Label. Their marriage has the full support of their family and friends. Peaches and Max did not want unnecessary publicity, but following growing media speculation, have decided to set out the facts. No further comment from either will be forthcoming.”

This Max guy wasn’t even on the scene last week and 19 year old Peaches was hooking up with Faris Badwan from the Horrors. Poor guy, i bet he doesn’t have a clue what is going on!!!!!

It seems that she not only left her “boyfriend” in the dark but also her family too. Her father Bob Geldof didn’t know anything about the marriage until 2 minutes before the ceremony was due to take place.

I have found THE most bizarre (but funny) video ever! You have heard of people being lookalikes of their favorite celebs, well now we have dogs dressed as celebs!

Madonna, Kanye West, Amy Winehouse and Kylie all have their own Dog alike. Have a look at the video and let me know which one you think is best.

I think my vote goes to Madonna, how the hell did they get pink fishnets on a dog?! And i love the way it does lunges!
