At last! Beyoncé gives birth

After months of speculation and rumour, it would appear that Beyoncé has finally given birth to a baby girl…

It looks like the bump wasn’t fake after all, as those close to Jay Z and the ex-Destiny’s child have taken to Twitter to welcome the most talked-about baby of last year. Gwyneth Paltrow, Solange, ‘Aunty Rih(anna)’, and others have made Blue Ivy Carter a global trending topic even though she was only born on Saturday night.

Relatives of other patients at the hospital in New York are already complaining they have been prevented from seeing their own new arrivals by burly bodyguards, while everyone scrambles to have any details of the event, the gifts and baby herself.

Goodbye Amy

It was such sad news to hear that Amy Winehouse passed away over the weekend. Although toxicology test results have not yet come back, it looks likely that drink and/or drugs will have played a part in her demise.

The soulful singer was such a legend. Instantly iconic in her looks as well as her performances and of course; that voice. She has well and truly earned a place in the infamous 27 club, but we wish she wasn’t there.

She only managed to release two albums and although they were stunning pieces of work, she still had so much more to give.

The girl epitomised Camden and its rock and roll culture and it’s fair to say that the legend will live on in her music and her never dying presence on the Camden scene.

A message to Madonna

There are certain things that you have to stop doing when you’re 52. You should probably stop going out every Friday and Saturday night. You should probably stop going out with teenage boys. And if you are Madonna (niche audience, we know) you should just stop!

Stop it! Now! Seriously. On behalf of your eternally tortured and embarrassed children, just stop being so ridiculous. You can’t act as though you haven’t aged over the last thirty years, because you blatantly have; just take a look at those hands for a start!

We all know you’ve aged. We can all see. So stop desperately trying to clutch onto your youth because it’s bloody well miles behind you. Youth is so far away that even those disgustingly muscle-y arms can’t drag it back; so stop it.

Britney Spears earns $500k for product placement in Hold It Against me

One of the first things that viewers may notice upon watching Britney Spears’ brand new video, Hold It Against Me, is just how many sneaky product endorsements are crammed into it.

In the video, which lasts around four and a half minutes, Britney is seen using her own Radiance fragrance and applying some worryingly permanent-sounding cosmetics called ‘Make Up For Ever’. She also spends some time browsing PlentyofFish.com and using Sony products.

There is no attempt to hide the brand names of these products, or integrate them into the rest of the video. For these seconds of shameless promotion, Britney is said to have earned herself a cool $500,000.

Is Nicki Minaj trying to steal Gaga’s crown?!

Just when you thought celeb outfits couldn’t get much more bizarre than those regular worn by pop wierdo Lady Gaga, along comes female rapper Nicki Minaj with her own take on attention seeking outfits.

As well as her extremely foul-mouthed rapping being an acquired taste, so is her dress sense, and pictures of her latest freakish get-ups are appearing online on a daily basis.

‘Booty protectors’, bling covered bodysuits and tasteless neon tights are just some of the wierd and certainly not wonderful pieces she’s been seen out and about in, and add to the mix her awful collection of wigs and you really have got a sight for sore eyes!

Mutya Vs Sugababes

There has always been a bit of tension between the Sugababes girls and with the original line up no longer, friction has started to build between current and ex members of the band.

Mutya Buena has really stirred things up though by starting a legal battle to try and claim the “Sugababes” name, which could mean that the band would have to think up something new and Mutya would have full control over how the name was used. I can’t imagine she would want the current line up using it though, can you?

However, the girls don’t seem too phased:

“We know what’s going on but it hasn’t affected us at all. I don’t really understand any of it. We’ve got the right to use the name. We’ve got lawyers who are dealing with that and we’re just getting on with performing and having a good time.”

Mutya has decided to put a spanner in the works by starting all of this just before the girl’s album, Sweet 7, is released on March 15th.

Who has the hottest body in the world?

When you think of who has the hottest body in the world, the normal names spring to mind! Megan Fox, Cheryl Cole, Katy Perry….not Frankie Sandford!! For those of you who aren’t aware of who she is, she is a member of the girl band, The Saturdays, not very talented but likes to show off her “hot” body!

The poll took place by Zoo Magazine and Frankie came up top beating the regular winners to first place. Do you think Frankie has the best body out there? The fact she’s only 21 (ish) means that her body is at it’s peak, surely it’s going to look better than the older bunch!

Frankie was just as shocked to hear about the win as we were. She has said:

“Wow, to win the Hottest Body in The World award is truly amazing. Thank you, I am truly flattered and would like to thank ZOO, and more importantly all the readers who voted. I really appreciate it!”

MTV Awards 2009

The MTV awards took place recently and A list celebrities were sat on the edges of their seats, hoping that it would be their name that got called out so they could parade up to the stage and accept their award.

As normal, the awards were a huge event with full to the brim goody bags, lots of bling and they even got someone to buy fireworks to really set the night off.

For one person in particular though, the night may not have gone as expected. Taylor Swift was one of many nominated for ‘Best Female Video’. To her surprise and obviously Kanye Wests’, she won! Taylor went up to receive the award and Kanye interrupted her speech with:

“Taylor, I’m really happy for you. I’ll let you finish, but Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time! One of the best videos of all time!”

Wow, that’s certainly a bit of a knock down for poor Taylor!

Beyonce did manage to get her hands on an award though, for ‘Best Video of the year,’ for her great dance routine in Single Ladies! Beyonce, who was obviously a little bit embarrassed by the whole Kanye thing, spoke out to Taylor after her thank yous.

“I remember being 17 years old, up for my first MTV award with Destiny’s Child and it was one of the most exciting moments in my life. So, I’d like for Taylor to come out and have her moment.”

Michael Jackson Memorial Concert

OMG!! Did you watch the Michael Jackson memorial concert last night? I couldn’t hold back the tears, especially when I saw his brothers crying and even more so when Paris made an emotional speech about her father.

The concert saw the likes of Mariah Carey, Usher, Stevie Wonder and Lionel Ritchie take to the stage to blast out timeless Jacko hits, with Britain’s very own Shaheen Jafargholi stealing the limelight with “Who’s Lovin You”.

All the Jackson clan were in attendance  including all 3 of Michael’s children, who up until then had not been put in the media spotlight.

Michael Jackson dies age 50

The shocking news that Michael Jackson had sadly past away broke this week. Fans all over the world were devastated after his death was confirmed, I was in France at the time and tributes were taking place along the streets of Paris in dedication to the king of pop.

Michael, who was already dead when he reached the UCLA medical centre in LA tried to be revived but there was nothing more the paramedics could do.

Since Michael’s death, his ‘number ones’ album has already smashed the charts at number one and it has been flying off the shelves as the fastest selling album ever in one day.

At the BET awards last night, Janet Jackson made an emotional tribute to her brother saying:

“My entire family wanted to be here tonight but it was just too painful, so they elected me to speak to all of you. I’m going to keep it very short. To you, Michael is an icon. To us, Michael is family. And he will forever live in all of our hearts. On behalf of my family, and myself, thank you for all of your love. Thank you for all of your support. We miss him so much. Thank you so much.”

The front gates to Michael’s home have been filled with flowers and personal tributes to the king of pop.

I’m sure that Jacko, like all other music legends will stay playing in clubs, on the radio and his Cd’s will be bought for many years to come.
