Recession? Blue Ivy won’t be feeling the pinch

Doesn’t it warm the cockles of your heart to know that little Blue Ivy, daughter of Beyoncé and Jay-Z, has already had £1 million of gifts lavished on her since her birth last Saturday?

Forget the fact that millions of people live in squalor and abject poverty, there’s surely nothing wrong with wanting your baby to have the best start in life, right? So, for this little girl, that includes:

• Three identical nurseries in three different houses
• A £10,000 Swarovski-encrusted high chair (which will be a joy to clean I’m sure)
• A £400,000 solid gold rocking horse
• Gold and platinum rattles
• Tiffany’s dummies

I didn’t even know those kinds of things existed….

Depp and Paradis hit the rocks?

After fourteen years together, it would seem that Vanessa Paradis and Johnny Depp may have reached the end of the road. There are rumours doing the rounds that the couple are going through a rocky patch and that Johnny Depp has even been consulting lawyers…

They are not married, but do have two children together. It may give hope to some and be depressing for others as seemingly being one of the only celeb relationships that could last for more than five minutes.

Although it’s just a rumour for the moment, it’s not the first time that the press has speculated about the state of their relationship. French mag Voici suggested that Depp and his publicist may be more than just friends a year ago already. So, one to watch there!

The rumours about Brand and Perry are true

Another short-lived relationship bites the dust as Russell Brand and Katy Perry have confirmed that they are ending their fourteen month marriage… After all the elephants and whatnot at their lavish Indian wedding, and the usual gushing about how amazing they both are, they have decided to go their separate ways.

Cue lots of speculation as to why they no longer want to be together. Katy Perry’s parents apparently think that God brought about the divorce in order to fill their church with rubber-neckers; one newspaper ‘source’ claims that Brand was rude about Perry’s bible-bashing parents, while another attributes the break-up to the fact that ex-addict Brand wants to settle down and have kids while Ms Perry wants to drink and party….

At last! Beyoncé gives birth

After months of speculation and rumour, it would appear that Beyoncé has finally given birth to a baby girl…

It looks like the bump wasn’t fake after all, as those close to Jay Z and the ex-Destiny’s child have taken to Twitter to welcome the most talked-about baby of last year. Gwyneth Paltrow, Solange, ‘Aunty Rih(anna)’, and others have made Blue Ivy Carter a global trending topic even though she was only born on Saturday night.

Relatives of other patients at the hospital in New York are already complaining they have been prevented from seeing their own new arrivals by burly bodyguards, while everyone scrambles to have any details of the event, the gifts and baby herself.

Harding’s New Year starts badly

After a pretty rough 2011, which saw her break up from her DJ fiancé and then check into rehab for alcohol addiction, it would seem that 2012 may not bring much more joy for Sarah Harding from Girls Aloud…

After apparently heading to Austria for a booze-free start to the year, police were called to her hotel when guests reported a violent fight breaking out in her room. She was then pictured returning home with a bandaged hand.

Both have now appeared in The Sun accusing the other of starting the fight and doing the most damage. The apparently alcohol-fuelled brawl between the recovering alcoholic and ex-crack addict is likely to result now in charges against both of them.

Needless to say, it looks like their short relationship is already over…

She doesn’t like being tarty apparently

Sitting there pouting away, Helen Flanagan has stated that the reason she quit Coronation Street was because she didn’t want to play a promiscuous character.

How ironic considering every photo you see of her in the papers, she is wearing some tarty outfit. In fact, she might as well not have been wearing a top in her latest ‘tweeted’ photo.

Well anyway, after her pretty poor acting for the last million years on the soap, it’ll be a bit of a relief not to see her pouting away in every scene.

Good luck Helen, but we’re pretty sure you may well have ended your career in one not so clever move.

Kardashian wants a divorce. Great

With couples all over the world celebrating their 25 year or 50 year anniversaries, it really does warm our hearts to think that even when things aren’t great and countries are getting themselves more and more into debt, love can conquer all.

And then we think of Kim Kardashian and get a cold shiver down our spine. Just 72 days after she married some bloke called Kris Humphries, she is apparently filing for divorce. Awesome.

There’s a woman who totally took her vows seriously. Still, at least they made an estimated $18million from the wedding, so it wasn’t a complete waste of time.

Alex Reid attracts the paps shocker

Wow. Just when we thought Alex Reid couldn’t get any more desperate or embarrassing he goes and does this.
Following his proposal, the hunk (barf) has taken his beautiful bride to be, Chantelle Houghton – obviously – ring shopping.

But of course, the couple couldn’t treasure and enjoy this personal and special moment because they had to invite the paps along too. Well, obviously we can’t prove they invited them can we, but really….we’re not as thick as him so we’d say it was pretty obvious.

Oh well, they’ve got to pay for their (no doubt) tacky, over the top wedding somehow!

Billie Piper has another cutie on the way

Yay! Billie Piper is all pregnant again. How nice. The actress has revealed that she is three months pregnant.
This will be her second baby with Laurence Fox after the birth of their son Winston.

We like Billie Piper and that’s because she seems alright actually. She doesn’t flaunt her children or her life – she just seems to get on with it. You don’t see her inviting cameras into her home and ensuring that she’s ‘papped’ every time she does the school run. She just does it.

And that’s why we’re very excited about Billie’s news and would urge all celebs to follow in her dignified footsteps.

The life of VB

It must be nice to just start a new hobby whenever it takes your fancy. Imagine just having the time and the money to be able to take something up whenever you like.

When you’re Victoria Beckham though, this is a very definite reality and it looks as though salsa is her new ‘thing’.

Victoria went with David Beckham to watch Marc Anthony’s concert and stated afterwards that it inspired her to want to learn how to salsa.

How nice it must be to even have time to think about it; let alone carry out every whimsical idea and new hobby that you come across.
